FAMILY FUN IN BIRD PARK

the conservancy and Parks Advisory Board celebrated Mt. Lebanon’s Status as an arboretum with

free and fun activities for all ages on Sunday, OCT 16, 2022.

MT. LEBANON IS AN ACCREDITED ARBORETUM! AS PART OF MAINTAINING THIS DISTINCTION, THE PARKS ADVISORY BOARD AND MT. LEBANON NATURE CONSERVANCY CREATE COMMUNITY EVENTS EACH YEAR THAT FOCUS ON THE TREES THAT GRACE AND ENRICH OUR COMMUNITY.

IN 2022, THE CONSERVANCY HELD A COMMUNITY EVENT IN BIRD PARK WITH VARIOUS EVENTS, INCLUDING WALKING TOURS GUIDED BY OUR KNOWLEDGEABLE VOLUNTEERS.

ABOUT 100 COMMUNITY MEMBERS STOPPED BY TO:

  • Learn about native trees, shrubs and other plants

  • Enjoy guided walks through the park to view woodland rehabilitation efforts

  • Participate in family yoga

  • Make cool arts and crafts

  • Cozy up by the bonfire and snack on cider, apples and donuts.
