Please join us for our Annual Meeting to review the past year’s accomplishments and vote in the new Board Members. The brief (20-minute) meeting will be followed by a presentation, Snails on the Planet and In our Parks, by Dr. Timothy Pearce, co-sponsored by Mt. Lebanon Public Library.
Snails on the Planet and in our Parks
Did you know that there are more than 60,000 species of snails in the world? Snails are members of the second largest phylum (Mollusks) but most humans know little about them. Learn about these fascinating creatures with Dr. Tim Pearce from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History as he regales us with fun facts about snails, what makes a mollusk a mollusk, how they are related to other animals, and why we should care. Tim will talk about some of his research projects, share information on the two rare species we have in Twin Hills Park, and crack some snail jokes along the way. There will be time for questions after the talk, so bring shells, questions, and riddles! This program is brought to you by the Mt Lebanon Nature Conservancy, in conjunction with the Mt Lebanon Library, as part of their Annual Meeting. Registration is required.
