DIG IN! Join Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy volunteers to prepare the stream headwaters area for trees and shrubs. The main tasks today will probably be 1) scratching up the soil with rakes to prep for seeding, and 2) digging holes - big holes - for the trees and shrubs! Bring water, gloves, and a shovel and metal rake if you have one. (We also will have extras on hand.) There could be some trees to plant, too, so if you can, please bring a gallon jug of water for dousing the trees. Wear long pants and sleeves (for tick and poison ivy protection). All activities are weather permitting. Meet at the Beadling Road entrance to the park.
Pre-registration is required.
