Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy invites you to join us as we do some trail prep work on various trails at Bird Park to prepare for School in the Park. School in the Park, a program of the Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy in partnership with the Mt. Lebanon School District and the Municipality, began in 1984 and we are pleased to continue this tradition.
It is an interactive nature discovery program for Mt. Lebanon’s 3rd grade students held each spring in Bird Park. The program’s activities support the school district’s third grade science curriculum and provide an opportunity for students to learn about native plants and animals in their woodland habitats and their connections among all living things.
We will be hauling and spreading gravel and mulch to mark the trails and repair muddy locations. Please dress appropriately in a long-sleeved shirt and pants. Bring work gloves, large shovel, rake and/or pitchfork if you have it as well as a water bottle. Meet at the Bird Park pavilion.
