… PURCHASING native trees, shrubs, seed and groundcovers to plant in the three parks where we work: Bird Park, Twin Hills Park and Robb Hollow Park.

SUPPLIES

… FURNISHING SUPPLIES like garbage bags for removing invasive plants, tree tubes that protect saplings from hungry deer, or work gloves for new volunteers.

EVENTS

… DEVELOPING PROGRAMS with speakers, guides and refreshments! Specialists often donate their services but not always. We proudly offer programs free of charge.

SCHOOL IN THE PARK

… PROVIDING MATERIALS for our annual School in the Park program for third graders. In one activity, children dissect owl pellets (poop) to see what the owls had eaten. Owl pellets alone cost $1,300 per year.

Send a check donation, made out to “Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy,” to: P.O. Box 14901, Pittsburgh, PA 15243. Checks minimize the fees we pay for online processing.
We also highly value the time that volunteers give through the year. Hundreds of people join in to help weed, clip, haul or plant. We welcome other volunteer help, such as working with us to develop new programs; staffing booths at events like Mt. Lebanon’s Earth Day; doing some printing or photocopying; or contributing photographs that we can post to social media or our website.
