Plant Description: Grows to 3-4' tall and wide, creating a shrub-like appearance at maturity. Foliage is bluish-green. Tall spikes of blue flowers pop out in May, ripening to black seedpods that look great in dried arrangements. Appropriate in beds near streets, driveways and sidewalks due to salt tolerance.

Planting Instructions: A full- to part-sun plant tolerates a range of soils and conditions. Long tap-root makes it difficult to transplant, so propagate additional plants via seed. A new plant may take 2-3 years to flower. Deer resistant and salt tolerant. Attracts pollinating insects, birds and hummingbirds. Note: Mildly toxic to humans and animals (stomach upset).
